Too busy even to read

Tuesday, September 21, 2010 Posted by Dils 4 comments

Pictured by me! That is Fasha by the way, being curious on what I was looking at all day.
I am not incline to blog these few weeks. Maybe its a case of too lazy, too demotivated, too listless. Basically there's too many excuses, not enough time nor energy. In this case determination.

Also I do think that I am getting lax in my reading. Which is not good. Basically nothing bring me joy. At the moment. Maybe a trip to the beach with nothing on my mind. Which is weird, because I hate beach holiday. All those sands that get into your clothes and track into your hotel room and even get into your bed. Ugh!

What would you do to get your life started again? Basically energized yourself if you feel like you're in a rut?

Motivate me! And don't get all preachy.

Make Up Entry #5: Nilaian Cinta

Thursday, July 8, 2010 Posted by dueng 2 comments
Cinta.

1) Hatimu berdebar berjumpa dengannya

2) Dia yang buatmu tersenyum juga buatkan dirimu menangis

3) Dia yang tanpa bercakap pun sudah dapat selami hatimu

4) Kamu berasa selesa dengannya

Jika iya, mungkin benar kamu cintakan dia. Ha ha.

Mourning - and I Need My Own Space

Wednesday, June 16, 2010 Posted by Anonymous 5 comments
From Wikipedia:

Mourning is, in the simplest sense, synonymous with grief over the death of someone. The word is also used to describe a cultural complex of behaviours in which the bereaved participate or are expected to participate. Customs vary between different cultures and evolve over time, though many core behaviors remain constant.
Wearing dark, sombre clothes is one practice followed in many countries, though other forms of dress are also seen. Those most affected by the loss of a loved one often observe a period of grieving, marked by withdrawal from social events and quiet, respectful behavior. People may also follow certain religious traditions for such occasions.
Mourning may also apply to the death of, or anniversary of the passing of, an important individual like a local leader, monarch, religious figure etc. State mourning may occur on such an occasion. In recent years some traditions have given way to less strict practices, though many customs and traditions continue to be followed.

While others celebrate their birthdays, vacations (like Soraya Zainal) or marriage (congratulations mangifera!) with such happiness, I was hit by sad news last Sunday. My aunt has passed away.

Most of my friends have not met my aunt; only some of them did (like Unta@Jitra; remember when we all crash at my house back in Muar on our way to Dils' wedding?).

I am one of the most affected by the loss because she was the one who always looked out and taking care of me since I was born. And the news hit us quite sudden - we never expected her to leave us like that.

She died out of fever due to her compromised immune system starting when she underwent dialysis for her kidney problem. Two days of fever, and then she's gone.

I am still coping. Thanks in advance for all wishes; but I do need to take some time off from social events - thus, you might see less of me.

Double Delights - Diabetic Attack!

Saturday, May 29, 2010 Posted by dueng 1 comments
Double posting from me this week. My apologies I couldn't make it last week. I was hospitalized due to high sugar blood level. My sugar blood level was 26.9 from normal at 5-9 for adult. The issue starts genetically cause my mom having diabetes since 1990. It's in the gene and with my obesity and chaotic meal schedule, the inevitable just ticking like time bomb. I was hospitalized for a week and recovering now resting at home.

My diet was ok from sugar POV but not from carb POV. I always work late hence dinner always late at night. I'm might not taking much carb for dinner but continuously, it contributes to the diabetic domino. The advice from my attending physician was to reduce my weight and it will greatly affect my diabetes issue. My obesity was the triggering point of the diabetic attack thus if I could get control of it, I should do just fine considering I'm still at young age and not addicted to soda/coke. And no more carb late at night for me.

It was a hellish experience though it was a tad bit fun having so much time for myself. I must confess, this is the first time I'm hospitalized hence everything was exciting for me. Haha.

My advice is check your family health background and identify your probable inherited disease cause it might get to you earlier than you thought. :D

Life is Unpredictable!

Friday, April 16, 2010 Posted by dueng 0 comments
We life long enough to know that life is unpredictable. Life sucks for most part but that's wasn't the best part of it. Life is like hurricane; turning your life upside down without you even realize it, in a blink of eyes. Some people believe that it's written in our fate for us to become like that, I believe otherwise. What written in our fate couldn't be change for some; your birth, your death, your family etc but things like how you progress in life still pretty much flexible for you to run it at your own accord. Hence, the freewill.

I'm a big fan of UP series. It's a film documentary which follows life of 14 kids from various background. The film franchise revolved around revisiting each of the children life every 7 years. The children who starts in this series at age 7 now become aging to age 49; which means, there are 7 installation of the series. This franchise starts in 1964 and the next installation is 56 UP. Read more at here.

Among all children who signing up to this series, Neil Hughes turned out to be having most unpredictable life. You could see the transformation in video below:

Life is unpredictable, nuff said.

Neil starts bright, cheerful turns into an eccentric, depressed, horrible being. Bouncing back, he work his way up. I would love to watch his transformation over the years but given the chance of this snapshot of Neil's life is like a wake up call for me. It's a daunting experience nonetheless if I were Neil.

What more, you just couldn't give up in life. Keep on going and going and going.

I hope you enjoy it. As much as I enjoy it. And take a close look at your life and count your blessing.

A Glass Half Full, or a Half Empty?

Wednesday, March 31, 2010 Posted by Anonymous 9 comments

I am going to talk about glass today. No, not the texture of the glass, neither how it was made from sand. I am going to talk about people, context, and its funny correlation with human.

After nearly a quarter of a decade living, I only give up on one thing - human. Every person I met have different perspective; different context. That I can get. What I cannot get is how ignorance people are when they are being given another perspective. So, instead of giving perspective every time, now I mostly hear what other people have to say.

There's three type of people I've met when it comes to perspectives and context.
  1. Those who embrace changes and saw the differences or new ideas as something that's thought provoking.
  2. Those who reject the new ideas; who saw it as something inconvenience; blasphemy.
  3. Those who pretends they embrace the context, but they actually not.  Worst, some of them even backstabbed you with curses and blasphemy.
Those who falls under category #1 is those who embrace knowledges and take it as their glasses are half empty. Once it is about to be at the limit, they change their glasses (or context) to a bigger one so that they can appreciate everything that they just learned.

Those who falls under category #2 is those who rejected knowledge and are not willing to expand their context (or changing their glasses to a bigger one). Their usual reaction is denial and rejection.

Those who falls under category #3 is the hypocrite. They take something when it gives benefits to them, and they reject something which is an inconvenience for them. But what worst and make them difference than category #2; they have the hearts to use your perspective to backstab you - and gain some advantages over you. That is a real WTF people.

Example 1:
Somehow; someway; arrogance seep into him / her and he / she adapted the "holier than thou" attitude.

When I say that he / she is changing for the worst - he/ she denied it and stop being friends with me. They also tell people that I'm liberal and "sampah". Whoa~ I was shocked.

Ironically, these are the people who once said that "hey, you're my best buddy / best friend forever / BFF" and shit.
Example 2:

He / she have problems in relationship. Cliche, I was always being the reference point when anyone have problems in love or relationship. LOL.

So I give him / her the thoughts of my mind. How worst his / her spouse can be. How good the thing actually is because their relationship is one-sided in a way. At least that's how people looked at them.

You know what's the usual responses?

"I know that , but..."

Damn. Sometimes I just hate "the but". You asked for my opinion and yet you have "the but" and can't move on?

*~sigh~*

Changes are hard. Changes are challenging. Sometimes we don't see what we do wrong, or what we missed when we let the problems blinded us.

But when people told us about it, take some time to consider the other options. Take some time to weigh in the other perspective. Take some time to  gain your courage to move forward.

Because in life, if you want to grow; you need to learn and face challenges.

Remember, the glasses were made from sand. They have been heated, processed, and face many things to change them into something shiny and useful. That's the lesson for today.

Be a glass that's half empty; not a glass that's half full.

What am I preaching here? I also don't know. Go troll it. I just think it is appropriate to motivate people in the middle of the week with some thought-provoking concepts. If you're feeling down or weak, read this; learn something; and face them. Good luck!

P/s: No, I haven't updated my blog. Maybe I'll post the same thing there.
